Our Vision of Victory
When establishing a vision for the church, it seems wise to rely on the Word of God to supply wisdom and direction. While reflecting on his Word, one is impressed with a number of concerns close to God`s heart. However, when trying to grasp this wide range of concerns, a church can easily be overwhelmed and distracted. The result...a great deal of activity but minimal progress.
An element of clarity can be achieved when we examine the passage in which Jesus was asked, "Which is the greatest of all the commandments?" (Matthew 22:34-40) If you recall, Jesus answered that question by stating, " You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself."
Thus, the twofold vision of Gray Avenue Christian Church:
To let God...

and love others through us!
In addition, our Theme verse, coming from Galatians 5:6, states:
"The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."
So, it would be our goal that the most often asked question at Gray Avenue Christian Church, be...
"What is the most loving thing we/I could do in this situation?"
The old secular song has a powerful message even for the church. The most recognizable phrase in the song is:
"What the world needs now is love, sweet love!
No, not just for some but for everyone!"
These days,that statement is especially true. May the love they receive be God`s love and may it flow through us!
